Thanks! I think that the wacky mirror effect may be one of the best uses of the cadatropic lenses, especially now with high mega pixel cameras and crop sensors making such long distance lenses not as necessary. Its fun to have and nice and relatively small. Especially the 500mm f/8 Tokina I bought (used) recently -- which I would recommend just for the smaller size.

Well, unfortunately I actually never use Linux. I was hoping for a simple Gui interface taht would be blazingly fast for websurfing. Unfortunately, it still takes a minute to start up and since that was the case, I'd rather just go with good old XP with my graphics/office/CAD software that I'm used to. To be honest, I could go back to Linux, now that my final "second" monitor has passed away, I don't need to do a dual monitor setup...but it was a fun experiment, and unfortunately I think that's all it will be.

Are you staying on Linux? What distribution(s) did you try? Pretty much all of them have a package manager or two, which make it a lot easier to install all the pre-requisites.

Debian uses apt-get, for which there is a graphical front-end called, uh, Synaptic or something, but there's also a text-based menu system called aptitude.
