  • multiple exposure (otp131)

The assignment for OTP 131 was multiple exposure. I don’t have that “feature” on my camera, so I just did it in Photoshop playing with layers and different blend modes. I’m not sure about any of the images that came out, but two I liked well enough and its nice to have in the back of my head for future assignments.

  • mobile (otp130)

This assignment is almost irrelevant for me since so many of my assignment responses are from the phone, but I thought this captured the spontaneity that can be caught with a mobile phone. Though then I went into the desktop to make a diptych out of it.

  • empty street (otp128)

It seems that I fell back on one of the main tropes of this assignment – using a manhole cover to activate the empty street.

  • a portrait session

Now that our girl can handle a camera on her own, we had a little portrait session this evening.

It took a few tries, but she finally found my head.

Most of it ended up around the knees:

I really like how this one came out.

  • independent study (otp126)

The baby had learned to activate the shutter previously, but this day she actually figured out how to point the camera in the correct direction (even though she has no use for the optical viewfinder). So this became the independent study, trying to do a self portrait with her clicking the shutter.

Proof that she knows how to point the thing – first a shot of the ground and then the bunny.

  • still life (otp125)

This turned out to be much more difficult than I imagined!

Interestingly the shot I preferred when I uploaded to g+ was this wider angle shot.

Here’s the image, before the bear fell over.

  • transportation (otp127)

As I do occasionally, I tried the assignment approach of letting the baby do the shooting, while I’m more of the director / editor. This time with her toy car she used to call beebeegoogoo.

  • shadows (otp108)

I’m never particularly good at figuring out what image will be well liked in the OTP g+ site, but this one went over really well.

In that vein, I just recropped another image from that assignment super tight which is a vast improvement over the previous one which was lacking in focus.

And also some nice shadows from late at night.
